Julie Visnich, Director
Julie sees her role as setting the tone of complete support,
confidence building, and FUN for all the coaches and campers. Under
her leadership the camp has grown to be one of the premier all women
snowboard camps in the country.
Julie suffers from something called spontaneous singing disorder (SSD). The woman cannot stop singing (unless she's talking)! She sings very badly and with the wrong song lyrics. It's not her fault though, it's yours. If the campers and coaches weren't so fun she would be able to squelch the disorder. But apparently there's no cure. Watch out; it's contagious. You too will be belting out bad 70's songs before you know it.

Beka Jacobs
We all wish we had a Pocket Beka. We call her pocket sunshine, or sometimes just pocket. There is nothing in life that is not sweeter when with Beka. She is one of the brightest, most positive people in the world. She takes her teaching seriously, always working on another certification. All you know when you are with her is that you have a one woman cheering section behind you, next to you, in front of you. She can also teach you the most amazing tricks to do on a snowboard that aren't actually snowboarding - in the traditional sense anyway.
Emily LeMaire
Don't let the quiet and sometimes serious expression fool you, this girl can shred! Emily is great at movement analysis (watching what's wrong with your riding, and fixing it). She approaches her teaching in a thoughtful way, and can be seen studying her snowboard instruction manual at lunch to try and think up different ways to help her students. She also comes up with great analogies, like "Do the Jessica Simpson" in her lessons.
Katie Copeland PH- Professional Hottie
Katie is a delight in every way. She can focus up, get 'er done, and have nothing but fun along the way. She loves her truck, country music, shredding, and oh yes - boys. Katie can teach lessons and track hot guys all day long on the mountain. Her teaching style is all her own. You have so much fun when you're with Katie, that you don't even notice you're learning stuff.
Jeni Hartman
Jeni was once a SheRide camper herself. She loved it so much she had to get a job at the mountain and become a SheRide coach. Jeni's thoughtful and kind approach to teaching make her students feel so safe that they can do anything.
Maria Irwin
We've been after Maria for a while to get her onto the SheRide team. The oldest of six, she is very responsible and fantastic at communication. Maria rips through the snow with a smile on her face at all times. Her passion for snowboarding is contagious.
Penney Stahl
Penney can wax her little girls' skis at the kitchen sink and still make it to line up on time. She is the tiniest of all the coaches, yet can ski (she does both) with one kid in a backpack and another in between her skis. She falls in love with snowboarding all over again all the time. Last year she decided to become a park rat, and has been launching herself off of stuff ever since. She learned park on a Saturday, and entered her first competition on a Sunday. The girl is game!
Maureen McGhee (on the left) with Julie Visnich
Maureen flies all the way in from Oregon to clinic and coach with the
SheRide team. She can be heard saying things like "Okay, before you
go down this next pitch what's your strategy going to be? Talk to
me." The lady is dynamite in every way - communication, sense of
humor, great ideas (she's the one who came up with the name SheRide!),
positive attitude, and on top of all that she plays a mean game of
charades. She also has a beautiful stance on her snowboard.
Brittani Coury (on the left with Beka Jacobs)
Brittani Coury is one of the funniest and kindest, can-do people you will ever meet. She is quite the combination of hard charging, fearless rider (slides the Smith Limo!) tries any trick, and hopes to go pro. But at night she can be seen making flower arrangements or knitting her awesome hats (if you're very lucky, you'll win one!). If she's not knitting at night then she may well be taking over an entire town and getting everyone to sing karaoke or moon passersby on the street. This lady has an infectious ability to enjoy life! That joy for life is a big part of her teaching style. Britt is coming back from Breck just to coach our January DMR camp (her home mountain), and Steamboat too. She's pictured next to Beka because these two are sisters from different mothers.
